NEW DIRECTION

THEPRINTEDIMAGETHM.jpg

The Printed Image is a social media experiment that we have been looking to try our hand at. The scope of the test will be to see if a publication can survive and flourish outside of any form of social media besides what the artist shares of it.

Basically we will not advertise the magazine but once or twice total on Instagram, Twitter, or possibly Facebook. We will leave it up to artist to do the majority of sharing the publication with their followers.

The main advertising for the magazine will be via, the internet and this website. If we join other book outlets those too will be advertised through our website, but not social media. We are literally taking a step back into publishing past.

For now, we will only produce one issue. If it does well we will extend the magazine to two issues with the second coming out in December.

   Here is how it works:

The publication is inclusion by review only, unless artist are acquired by invite. There are 8 spots per magazine. Only 4 to 5 spots will be by invites, leaving 3 to 4 open galleries for submission/review. This is done by informing artist that submissions are open. (The one time post and then a story via, IG) When and if submissions come in, work is then reviewed on if it meets the theme of the issue. If we receive too many submissions then we will debate and thin out by who best meets the themes concept.

**NOTE: No one will know who has been invited and who is from open submission. This is part of the experiment.

 16. As with our past publications the magazine will be printed by Blurb Books and available in Premium Quality, Economy Quality and PDF.

 17. Amazon...We have worked the numbers and so far found that by selling the magazine through Amazon it would raise cost, not lower. We are still looking into this. There are other outlets that we could possibly sell through as well.

 18. Quick note: Previously published work will not be accepted. This is in reference to print publications. Previously "posted" work on social media can be used, but it would be better if it was fresh work.

 19. Here is the first step you need to do if interested in being in The Printed Image. Contact us! This can be by IG/Dm, or email. Let us know that you are interested and will be submitting work. That way we get you on the list.

 20. This is an experiment...always remember that. It's basic plan is to see if we can take a step back in time.
